A No-Heat or No-Cool situation demands immediate attention. And not just a “Parts Changing” type amateur approach. Gas Furnaces have igniter systems, burners, heat exchangers, flame sensors, computer boards, safety sensors and shutoffs including Hi-Temp and flame rollout sensors, contactors, transformers, High and Low Voltage systems and wiring conductors, Blower Fan motors, filter systems, inducer motor blowers, pressure switches, gas valves, fuses, duct systems and other components.

AC Cooling systems have many of the above shared furnace components, PLUS evaporator coils, evaporator fan motors, condenser coils, compressors, contactors, start/run capacitors, refrigerant lines and valves and controls, Thermostats, accumulators, Disconnects/Fuses and more.

That should indicate how complex these systems are, and how much knowledge and experience is required to properly, efficiently, effectively and professionally maintain, adjust, repair and install these systems.

Preventative maintenance and regular annual/seasonal service attention will go a long way in extending the service life and efficiency of these systems, and head off the inconvenience and expense of “emergencies” by avoidable errors.

Whatever you do, be sure to change your air filters frequently as that is one of the most beneficial and simplest regular maintenance every homeowner can do themselves.
