Visiting my Parents in Arlington Cemetery

A time to be thankful for the freedoms we enjoy due to sacrifices made by so many.

Ande and I did a 2 mile hike this afternoon to visit my Mom and Dad’s graves at Arlington Cemetery, a couple miles from our Arlington home.

Amazing that they place over 400 Thousand real pine bow Christmas Wreathes on every single headstone!

An awe inspiring and contemplative walk we do several times a year. In the fall, the foliage is breathtaking.

Though only 28 degrees out, we caught the “Changing of the Guard” ceremony and I video recorded it today. At non-summer times of the year, it is performed every hour, and every half hour in the summer. Very special to see, as are military funerals as my parents both had there. Sobering to say the least.
